Are you installing version 1.3.2 or later? If you're using version 1.3.2 or later then PHPA no longer requires activation keys and so you can skip this page. Just go ahead and add the extension line to your php.ini and restart! If you are trying the version that Linux Format magazine have unofficially distributed then you can obtain a key or instead download release 1.3.2, requiring no activation key. Before version 1.3.2?
The Accelerator uses a registration key for the domain or IP to be accelerated. The key is simply based on the setting of the web server SERVER_NAME variable, as set by ServerName in httpd.conf. The setting is also shown in the output of phpinfo() if you want to check it. Single Key Activation Use this form to generate a single key and to show the settings to add to your php.ini or virtual hosts configuration. You can use the form more than once, although if you have many keys then the bulk activation form will be much more convenient. Note that it doesn't matter what your server name is set to, (e.g. you might have set a valid domain, an IP address, or localhost), but you must enter the same value to the form, and the case of the letters, (e.g. ABC or abc), must also be the same as used for your server configuration. This will normally be lower case because domain names are case insensitive.
Bulk Key Activation If you're using version 1.2p4, you can use the form below to generate and download a file with the keys for multiple domains (server name settings). Enter one domain per line. Blank lines are ignored, and lines beginning with # are treated as comments and included in the downloaded file. Set the php.ini variable phpa.registration_keys_file in your php.ini file to point to the downloaded file, and the domains listed in the file should be activated. Please note that in the current version (1.2p4) the maximum line length is 64 characters.
PLEASE NOTE that information about activated domains will not be disclosed to anyone without prior consent. If you have any problems or questions concerning the activation process then please just email to support@php-accelerator.co.uk.
